Due to the obvious dangers, each diver was tethered by a line to the surface, set down into pretension lines.

What took place over the next half hour is not fully understood.

But what is known, is that two of the divers never made it back to the surface.

Their tethers were retrieved, but not their bodies.

The third diver however, did resurface, apparently ***** by a pluner team.
